    Maurice Ravel : 5 Works by David Grimal & les Dissonances 4K 80'  - 2016  - Heliox Films
    Synopsis

A man with an independent and enigmatic nature, Maurice Ravel’s work lies at the turning point between the 19th and 20th centuries, a time of quarrels between modernists and traditionalists. After the First World War and the death of Debussy, he was considered one of the greatest French composers of the 20th century.

In residence at the Dijon Opera, the Dissonances ensemble presents their interpretation of 5 works by the maestro Maurice Ravel:

    - Valses nobles et Sentimentales (12 ')
    - Tzigane, for violin and orchestra (15 ')
    - Bolero (13 ')
    - Daphnis et Chloe (18 ')
    - La Valse (17 ')

    DAVID GRIMAL & LES DISSONANCES
The Dissonances, homage to the famous quartet of Mozart, is a collective of artists created by violinist David Grimal. The musical ensemble without conductor, has an absolute liberty of programming choices. This independence offers musicians the opportunity to meet a new audience sometimes intimidated by the so-called classical music and to bring the public a new vision of the major repertoire.
